AI Policy

The Laurel Park Group, LLC

Effective Date: April 2023

Last Updated: June 2026

We use AI tools the way we use any tool: with our hands on it and our name on the result. Coaching, facilitation, and circles are human-led. This page spells out the rest, so you know what to expect before you ask.

1. Our Approach

AI can be useful behind the scenes. It can also be used in ways that erode trust, and this industry has plenty of examples. Our position:

  • Transparency. You should know when AI was involved in something we made.

  • Human judgment. Anything we publish or deliver was reviewed by a human who stands behind it.

  • Your privacy. What you share with us in coaching, circles, and workshops is yours. We do not feed it to AI systems that store, sell, or train on it.

  • Human-led work stays human-led. Coaching sessions, facilitation, circles, and live workshops are conducted by a person, in real time, paying real attention. AI does not facilitate, coach, or respond on our behalf.

2. Where AI May Be Involved

Unless something is labeled otherwise, you can assume:

  • Written content (guides, the letter, web copy): AI may assist with outlining, editing, formatting, and drafting support. A human writes the substance and makes the calls.

  • Design and visuals: AI may assist with layout, resizing, and image cleanup.

  • Audio and video: AI may assist with transcription, captioning, and editing.

  • Programs and materials: AI may assist with organizing, drafting frameworks, and iterating on structure. The thinking and the standards are ours.

  • Coaching and live facilitation: AI's only role is notetaking and transcription, and only as described in Section 4.

3. How We Label AI Use

We use three labels to describe AI involvement:

  • AI-Free. Made entirely by a human, start to finish. Spellcheck doesn't count against this.

  • AI-Assisted. AI tools helped organize, draft, or polish. Human contribution and review are substantial.

  • AI-Generated. AI did the majority of the making; a human reviewed and approved it before it shipped.

If something isn't labeled and you want to know, ask. We'll tell you plainly.

4. Coaching confidentiality and AI

This part gets its own section because it matters most.

We may use an AI notetaking tool during coaching calls so that attention goes to you instead of to a notepad. Three commitments come with that:

  • You'll be told before it's used, at the start of our work together, and you can decline. Declining changes nothing about the coaching you receive.

  • Transcripts and notes are stored in our own systems, used only to serve your engagement, and deleted on request.

  • Your words are never used to train AI models. Not by us, and not by tools we'd agree to use.

5. What we ask of the tools we choose

Before we adopt any platform or tool, it has to clear our own evaluation standard. We decline tools and partnerships that require training AI on our content or our clients' content, claim broad rights to data they shouldn't have, or bury those terms where no one reads them. We've walked away from revenue over this, and we'd do it again.

6. What we ask of you

To protect our clients, our facilitators, and our work:

  • Please don't use our content, materials, recordings, voice, name, likeness, or community discussions to train AI models or create synthetic media.

  • Please don't scrape or mass-extract our materials for use in AI systems.

  • Using AI for your own private notes and study is fine, as long as proprietary materials aren't uploaded into tools that store or reuse what you give them.

Unsure whether a use is allowed? Email us first. We're easy to reach and we answer.

7. The honest caveat

AI tools can produce incomplete, outdated, or wrong information. We review what we publish, and you should still verify anything you're relying on. Our content is educational; we don't provide legal, tax, medical, or mental health advice. Our Terms of Use cover the rest.

8. Updates to This Policy

When this policy changes, the "Last updated" date changes with it. Material changes get mentioned in the letter.
